Splitting Spines

I was already in university by the time it occurred to me that words and writing are two of the main things that I enjoy. After editing in my spare time throughout my teens, it became clear to me that this is what I should be doing.

I wanted to create a blog which documented this process and shared my experiences. And so, Splitting Spines - a bad pun on my part - is now the blog of a book lover with scoliosis.

Sharing my personal experiences, thoughts, and opinions, this blog aims to narrate and share the lessons I've learnt since starting out in my chosen career. Please scroll to read more!

Why I don't want to be a 'woman in business'

For women to be taken seriously, we need to collectively begin working to remove gender bias from our mindsets. Women should absolutely continue to build each other up and be proud of their accomplishments and positions, but we should prioritise pride in skill, not 'skill — despite the social position of women'.

Defining as female is not a handicap. We shouldn't need to feel surprised when a woman rises to the top.
